Chapter 3 – Dinner and after The Mistress ushers the girls into the dining room where The Man is already seated at the head of a long table where she seats three on each side of the table and takes her place at the foot. Dinner passes uneventfully, the girls changing places between courses so that each has time sat next to The Man and to The Mistress. He stays with small talk, asking their ages, what they do in the outside world, whether they have siblings, all the inconsequential stuff. She on the other hand takes the opportunity to give the girls more details of what the week holds for them and how they should behave when in the company of The Man. After dinner the girls go back to the bar for a final drink, noting that the barmaid is now topless save for a heavy gold chain hanging from large rings piercing her nipples. One of the girls enquires and is told ‘House rules, Miss, after 9 p.m. we go topless.’ The Man and The Mistress meanwhile go to his office, the room with the cctv screens, and after some talking write on six small cards which The Mistress takes with her as she returns to the bar and shepherd the girls back to the bedroom.
