thanks. there is still a lot of headroom for improvements with custom textures. currently i have to guess whether a webpage png/gif is animated or not, which costs a 5 seconds pause per texture for the guesswork. after that pause, memory consumption should go down.

i'll also try to pause any animated gifs that are not visible on screen.
