A month ago i added a post about that i finally got myself a new PC.
I finally replaced my 2012 PC that had a Intel i7 3770K at the core.

The day after i posted that, i lost control of my right hand....
It just stopped working!

I deleted my post about that as I had more worry about my health at that time than telling you that i got a new investment.

You can't imagine the handicap of losing a limb until it happens, especially a hand! My right hand that is my MAIN hand!

The first days before i got to my doctor, i was very afraid!
Switching your righthand duties to your lefthand... Not very easy!

Turned out my condition was called "Drop hand syndrome".

One month later; i am "alright". I can use my hand decently again.
The strength of my wrist at certain angles are still weak, but it's getting there.

Anyway, ... My new PC cost me 820 Euros total.
I went with the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, 32Gb 3600Mhz Ram & the rest can be seen in the picture except the chassi, which is the Montech Air 1000 Silent.

The picture will show the rest.
Money don't grow as grass over here, but i'd would had loved to had bought the i7 13700k, just because of the numbers.

I have not installed my 1070 Ti yet as i wanted to try on the integrated GFX on the CPU, and i must say, after 1 month of testing, i am impressed!

Battlefieid V played very very decent at Medium with 1680x1050!

I have a DELL monitor that use 1680x1050. I bought that in 2009.
It's awesome (and still alive)!

Waiting for Black Friday/week to see if i can find a 27 DELL monitor for a decent price.

I was hoping AMD would of had release their new APU's this year, but, it looks like they are comming next fall.

That is what i am aiming for.

  • Glad you are better. With time, sounds like you may get most of your strength back in your hand.

Looks like a very nice rig!

  • Thank you, @boomer74

I hope it will return to normal soon. Every day is progress!

The PC with the CPU is sort of decent, but is no GODZILLA!

Even with an exclusive GPU it is ranked at the bottom.
    But i do not care.
I want a lifeline with this integrated Graphics IF the Exclusive GPU dies!

I run games with Vertical sync anyway. It also use less power.

Curious; anyone of you use an AMD APU Processor, like Ryzen 5600G with 3DSV2? How is it?

I'm not the GFX bling bling nut i once were & rich enough to get a "midrange" GFX card like a Nvidia 3060 today, which is still waaaay overpriced! (i'd buy a new nv3050 for 250 Euro, max!)

I'm actually thinking of skipping the dedicated GFX-cards next time & getting a good APU this fall instead.

AMD with their RDNA2 APU might be pretty darn good.

I'm ok with Mid/High settings @ 60 fps.

Fuck, my eyes actually went 25% worse when i turned 40, just like mom said...

I still have an Nvidia 1070 Ti that is wonderful for my needs, though.

  • I haven't used a modern / current AMD APU with 3DSV2. I would imagine that the 5600G would be more than adequate, even if it is based off of the older Vega graphics chip.

I'd pass on the 3050. It's not really mid-range. The RTX 3060ti is much more capable and a better value. Prices are coming down. If you don't mind going with AMD, you can get an older RX 5700xt for around $350 USD or less on Ebay. It's roughly comparable to the Nvidia RTX 2070.

I'm currently running an RTX 2070 Super.

  • Yep, the nv3050 is not midrange. It is low-end with a midrange price.... It is way over what i payed for my Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce in 2012, and that was a powerful card back than (350 euros).

I'm not sure where i end up now, though.
If the new AMD APU & Intel ARC integrated gfx are decent i probably use those processors.

Yeah, i still have a dedicated GFX card, but having a powerful APU as a backup sounds great to me.

  • Heck, i remember i bought a ATI 4830 for my sisters PC in 2009, i think for about 100 Euros, NEW!

2008 I had an Intel Quad 9450 CPU, 16 gb ram & a Sapphire ATI 4870 512Mb at the time.
Ran hot as hell, but it lived for 9 years!

It wasn't that expensive. I don't remember exactly, but it was around 250-270 Euros or so.
Not over 300, that i am sure of.
