I can not believe there was no back up server. What kind of business is this??

Du sprichst mir aus der Seele, wie oft haben wir um eine Möglichkeit gebeten, unsere eigene Arbeit selbst sichern zu können für solche und ähnliche Fälle. Dass dann aber ein Serverausfall derartig lange dauert und dann noch nicht einmal ein auch nur halbwegs aktuelles Backup zur Verfügung steht, ist einfach ein Zeichen mangelnder Professionalität. Ich bin sehr enttäuscht.

du hast vollkommen recht mit dem was du schreibst bei anderen spielen geht das speichern auch ohne Probleme sogar die Charakter kann man speichern auf sein pc nur geht es hier nicht komisch und nun haben wir den Salat ich bin ja mal gespannt wie die das wieder gut machen einige haben echt viel arbeit und mühe gemacht beim bauen was un-bezahl bar ist

@Lassi , you expressed my feelings exactly !!! Good job in your wording. I also know being familiar with IT, that it is possible to protect non static data, but obviously Thrixxx did not put the money into that kind of periodic archiving technology. On that I've submitted my opinion. AND, I agree - If we are going to put so much in hours and creativity into are villas - give us the option to back up data ourselves {as Thrixxx you appear to be unable}

As an IT person, this just tells me you did not adequately invest in the infrastructure that would have protected against this. (I have in my work) @Janitor walk in our shoes a moment, having put hundreds of hours into creating (villas, characters, etc). I will find it hard to trust again to start that process here. And just how will you know the affected users that put hundreds of hours into what they created (like I did my Villas). And what kind of amends can make up for that kind of loss!

1/3. @Janitor I have no idea how that should happen. Would be very interesting to know how that can be. But the pop up message at the launcher was saying, that the Thrixxx team wanna contact us shortly. I hope that you let us know, what exactly was happening with that, so we can try to understand why this massivly losses came over us all! that aren't (triple quotation marks) "just" the own created things there are gone. until now i lost 3 friends in here, they just wanna let the moving out the.

Shortly before the crashes were there, my pc was running and i was away from keyboard in the editor. Now i saw, that i got 2 locations on my room libary...
The one is a dayhouse, the another the night house
If i click on the dayhouse, the following message is poping up:

@IuliusCaesar - your spot on, and you saw my post above. The frustration over the lost work in the villas is going to be hard to let go of, as any trust for now in wanting to put that creativity back into them. At the moment why should we trust. It's like we entrusted valuable pieces of our artwork to them, which they just lost.

Gut gesprochen Lassi, es ist mir ein Rätzel wie die Backup - Dateien bei einem Server crash mit verloren gehen können, die sollten doch ganz wo anders sein - ich lasse ja meine Sicherungs Kopie auch nicht auf meinem Rechner!!!!

yeah, it is a sad thing, really gonna miss ur places... i have spent a real nice time there..
It is hard to create something like a home and than loos it even it is only a "game"... So i really can understand ur frustration.

I agree with both of you @SoNice26 and @Holger1307 . If this company had the proper infrastructure and IT support, this just should not have happened (or it would be happening at companies all over, which it doesn't). Thrixxx was just irresponsible in it's obligations to it's clients.

@Lassi Diese Meldung hatte ich auch beim ersten Mal wieder in RoomEdit. Wenn Du dann auf den zugehörigen Basisraum clickst, ggf. erst noch auf einen anderen, und dann auf Deinen Raum, der darauf basiert, ist alles in Ordnung, nachdem Du wieder raus bist.

Vielleicht sind sie ja auf einen Betrüger hereingefallen, den ihnen billigen Backupspeicher verkauft hat: 3pByte in der Größe einer Briefmarke, allerding WOM (write-only.memory)

So, nachdem ich heute morgen gegen 4:30 endlich auch in die Lobby gekommen bin, sieht es bei mir so aus: Meine Räume sind exakt auf den Stand vor 8 Monaten zurückgesetzt, mit allen Ungeschicklichkeiten, die ich in den letzten Monaten beseitigt habe und natürlich noch alles nur für 2 Spieler. Mein Avatar war weg, den hatte ja schon der mißglückte Start des Beta-Test für die Swinger-Option auf dem Gewissen, war also erst vor kurzem wieder hergestellt worden und ist damit auch gelöscht. ...

Alle Bildtafeln, die nach März hochgeladen wurden nach MyShares sind weg (blaues Fenster "Image not found") und können nicht wieder hergestellt werden; ich muss sie also erneut hochladen und dann den Bildtafeln zuordnen, was bei all den fehlenden Bildern auf dem Stream nicht geht, die sind endgültig weg.

Was ich nicht so ganz verstehe: Einige SV2-Spieler beschweren sich, dass ihre Arbeit auch weg sei, aber wenn ich mich recht erinnere, wird die eigene Arbeit doch auf dem eigenen Rechner gespeichert und nur zum Sharen mit anderen hochgeladen. Da dürfte doch der Inhalt nicht verloren sein, sondern braucht nur erneut hochgeladen zu werden?

Glücklicherweise habe ich von meinem Avatar ein "Papier-Backup" gemacht, d.h. ich habe zunächst alle Einstellungen des Avatar-Editors aufgeschrieben und dann alle Veränderungen, die nach dem Import im Spiel selbst vorgenommen werden mussten, um wieder ein identisches Ausehen zu erreichen. - Dabei kann es doch eigentlich nicht so schwer sein, den Avatar aus dem Spiel heraus extern zu speichern, zumal die Avatare ja auch beim Wechsel auf Abo und zurück gelöscht werden.

I see some Pictures in the Picturewalls of my only mysterius still available nightroom. i uploaded this stuff maybe a month ago.
Another thing is, that they aren't available on my myshares, just ingame on the walls. What is that ? is there still any hope to get some stuff back?

I think it is normal, as you can delete the pictures from MyShares after assigning them to a picture wall, and they stay on the wall visible. If however, you try to edit this wall (change the size or orientation) then it's suddeny gone. So do not rely on this, this system then is instable.

Hmm okay, i hope they will explain what this is, and doing a well Statement.

BTW: The pictures for the picture walls is my smallest problem, they are all still on my harddisk, ready to use, I only have to upload them again. This is some work, but not complicated, but the adjustment of all the other stuff in the rooms is the real pain. Fortunately I made "Fotos" of my rooms, and you did so also, as I saw.

Again lucky for those that had something left @Lassi and @SoNice26 , I lost 100% . And there are some things I will not do again, due to how much time they took, like building a functional deck all the way to the waterfall, where you could actually interact under waterfall. But the hours it took to make that work and look good !!! No, I will miss that ! And, Deleting all the empty place holders in your Private shares folder - have to do one by one, and took forever

Of course, the time lost to publish these houses/works/shares is priceless
But we must go forward: consider that it was training or trials before greater works (like walking before running)
& if were in "running mode" during the crash, now switch to "flying mode"

Ich habe jetzt nicht alle Kommentare durchgelesen, aber auch ich finde es extrem ärgerlich, dass alle Backups von April bis November weg sind. Wochen- und Monatelange Arbeit sind einfach so weg. Das darf einer Seite nicht passieren, die Geld von ihren Usern nimmt. Und ob die Wiedergutmachung reicht, das werden wir sehen.

First I want to say this. I know that we all have lost something with the server crash. Some of us more than others.

For me this is just a past time and one that I quite enjoy so I'm looking forward to being able to create new rooms and new stories.

I also look at some of the talented work that's been done around here and hope to see more of it in the future.

I 100 % agree with the need of save/load option of projects of locations and avatars too. Even more: CH3D should have the same ability of sharing user's projects as SV2
