A month ago i added a post about that i finally got myself a new PC.
I finally replaced my 2012 PC that had a Intel i7 3770K at the core.
The day after i posted that, i lost control of my right hand....
It just stopped working!
I deleted my post about that as I had more worry about my health at that time than telling you that i got a new investment.
You can't imagine the handicap of losing a limb until it happens, especially a hand! My right hand that is my MAIN hand!
The first days before i got to my doctor, i was very afraid!
Switching your righthand duties to your lefthand... Not very easy!
Turned out my condition was called "Drop hand syndrome".
One month later; i am "alright". I can use my hand decently again.
The strength of my wrist at certain angles are still weak, but it's getting there.
Anyway, ... My new PC cost me 820 Euros total.
I went with the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G, 32Gb 3600Mhz Ram & the rest can be seen in the picture except the chassi, which is the Montech Air 1000 Silent.
The picture will show the rest.
Money don't grow as grass over here, but i'd would had loved to had bought the i7 13700k, just because of the numbers.
I have not installed my 1070 Ti yet as i wanted to try on the integrated GFX on the CPU, and i must say, after 1 month of testing, i am impressed!
Battlefieid V played very very decent at Medium with 1680x1050!
I have a DELL monitor that use 1680x1050. I bought that in 2009.
It's awesome (and still alive)!
Waiting for Black Friday/week to see if i can find a 27 DELL monitor for a decent price.
I was hoping AMD would of had release their new APU's this year, but, it looks like they are comming next fall.
My hand & fingers are 100% back, and the strength, but have a slight less wrist movement still.
Some numbness over the wrist and at the front side of my right armpit does linger there, but not distracting or affect me at all.
I am a bit scared it could happen again without any warning like it did this time.
Good Morning @wogworgr That seems Like good news. It is very Mysterious and worrying naturally. but. you have made a steady recovery and that is encouraging.
Curious, when did you acquire your current computer, and what specs does it have?
I got mine fall 2012.
Selected & bought components myself, and homebuilt.
Total price: About 1100 euros incl legit Win7.
Specs:
i7 3770K
Asus P8Z77-V
Corsair Vengeance 16gb 8x2 ddr3
Intel SSD 120gb
Western Digital blue (or was it green?) 2gb storage
Gigabyte GTX670 2Gb Windforce
Onboard sound (Had X-Fi Gamer but it died last year.)
+ Two 22inch Widescreens Dell (love Dell) and Samsung. Very oldie fatties circa 2010 with native 1680x1050 resolution.
Am i still happy with this pc?
Fuck yea! I built it to last!
It does everything i want it to very quickly even after 7 years (soon) in service.
The bottleneck is the graphicscard though. It grew old only after a couple of years. But, i do not suffer too much, as i do not game as much as i used to.
Recently looked at new components, for fun, and many parts that are equal to what i got back than is now priced way up there past the overpriced barrier warning. Cause that is what many parts are nowdays. Gfx are almost hilariously sad overpriced.
If 'd get one today, it would be the GTX 1660 Ti Windforce. It costs about the same as what mine did. But mine is a GTX x70 card = GTX 2070 today. The cheapest on inet.se is priced 590:ish euros. Cheesus! That's half what my complete pc cost me!
So what about you? Are you limping while running 3DSV2? Newest DOOM is shining like a diamond on your sparkly new pc?
I was playing graphic intense games, but not lately. This system was overkill for 3DSV2, but that wasn't the point of the system. 3DSV2 isn't able to make use of most of the advanced hardware. Power wasn't an issue. I started with a Thermaltake 800W PSU, then upgraded to a 1000W EVGA PSU. The Intel i7 3770K is a good CPU. I had one in my second system, but the Asrock Z77 Pro4 board blew out its sourthbridge, taking all of the PCIe slots with it. I'm trying to find a replacement.
#PC I mentioned last year during the E3 show about the lack of a dedicated PC conference. Well, this year there will be a dedicated PC conference, finally! AMD and PC-Gamer took the first steps to make this happen.
I wonder when they will finally understand that PC is the only viable option for the future, a dynamic piece of hardware where multiple companies and industries can work on, with and sell products of and for .... the only people I see getting it is Valve, turn a pc into a console, instead of other companies trying to turn a console into a pc...
@godless8, Completely agree with you. Or just keep the PC a PC and its still a more dynamic machine. Something I've never understood with Microsoft is why there are Xbox exclusives that aren't available to PC, but their main source of income is an operating system for PC in which games are can off of...
@RedFlare Well that kinda makes sense, Microsoft sells their xbox as hardware, if someone wants to play game X or Y they need to pay 400 dollars to buy the hardware, there's no other way (there is but, not for mainstream masses) Microsoft doesn't sell PC hardware, they sell pc software, which is one time only 150 dollars or something, if people even pay that.
They made a mistake by trying to get more power in what people can buy or not buy with windows 8, think windows app store ... that's the reason why Valve decided to make Steam OS, due to fear of microsoft controlling the in and out stream of windows based software. Microsoft now put one up on valve with windows 10, not limiting software, so far.
Which means lower interest in steam machines than originally planned, why buy a new and unproven operating system, that is limited in what it can run due to incompatibility with software ? Steam OS is linux based, so far the gaming industry has not been all too kind to linux aswell as some other software suits, that being said, there is a clear trend that companies are starting to move towards linux more and more.
#PC Saw that E3 began today. Watching the xbox conference now, but, what i really want to watch is a PC conference. To my dismay, there are no such thing as a pc conference.
There's not just one company behind it. No "master" to control it. Could had been a good idea though, to have some developers teaming up and setting up a show for that. Showcasing games that primarily are made for pc in mind.
Oh In Far cry 4 you can Invite anyone to join you to support you , even if they dont own the game. BUT ONLY ON PS4!! /sigh I hear this "Only on..." too much on these conferences.
Now, this one looks special: No Man's Sky. So far, the one that impressed me the most of everything i've seen on E3. Looks like a game for me.
I did not catch if it was Only on PS4 (was alt-tabbing some), but that would be sad.
Glad you are better. With time, sounds like you may get most of your strength back in your hand.
Looks like a very nice rig!
